Vicenza, Italy

Our trip path through Italy: Milan – Verona – Vicenza – Venice – Pisa – Cinque Terra.   Milan is a thriving metropolis, Verona is the home of Shakespeare’s Juliet, Venice is the water city, Pisa has the leaning tower, and Cinque Terra’s ocean views are heart-stopping.

But Vicenza stole our hearts.  It is old in that fabulous European way, plazas and cafes and churches and cobblestones so old we Americans can’t really grasp it.  It is the home of the breathtaking Teatro Olimpico. Vicenza is beautiful, and serene, and friendly. It is full of art and architecture, culture and cuisine, history and heart.

It’s right on the train route between Milan and Venice – get off the train and lose your heart.
